Upgarding firmware in fabric switches

Hi Team,

Any one can help me on this. i am very new for the fabric admin.

I have two fabric setup in our environment. Fabric-A and Fabric-B, in Fabric-A and B each fabric connected as 9 switches total switches 18.the core switch is a 4900 edge switches  brocade 300B.

my question is upgrading firmware to switches need to upgrade individual switches or if i update the core switch it will get update on edge switches.

on each individual Switch you must perform "firmwaredownload"

Hi,

Thanks for the update,

is this required for reboot the switch to get updated version?  for the individual switches.

the switch perform fastboot when the first firmwaredownload step in the first Partion is ended, then the switch perform a commit.

I suggest to upgrade one fabric at a time, and before you begin to consult Brocade and Storage Matrix.

additional I suggest to create a config backup from all switch both Fabric, and begin depend the FOS release you have currently in the Brocade 300B with the Old CORE Switch 4900.
