Storage system not communicating with the brocade San switch FCping fails. Why?

FCping shows the storage system is not communicating with the SAN switches its connected to.  How to resolve?

Many storage systems just do not respond to fcping requests. BTW, what is your storage system vendor/model? Do you have any other problems that you are trying to resolve using fcping? Do you see a good name server entry for this storage port in the switch records?

Thanks Alexey,  I appreciate your response.  I think this is an anomally to the 3par Application, Peer Motion, i am working with.  The communication between 2 storage systems over FC. HP had me run that command and the results were. I thought i would check in the community anyway.

fcping: Error destination wwn invalid

The 1st wwn is from the older 3par and the 2nd the newer 3par I am migrating host to.

Well in this case your "new" 3par is really not present in the SAN...
