SSH permission denied?!

Hello,

We have a brocade 3900 FC switch, and for some reason it does not let us ssh into the switch, it throws back "permission denied". Has anyone seen this happen before? What is the cause of this?

Re: SSH permission denied?!

what ssh client? can you post debug output from the connection (e.g. ssh -vvv switch)?

Re: SSH permission denied?!

you've probably already double checked but

1.) correct password?

2.) account locked?

3.) have you updated FabOS lately and this stopped working?

Re: SSH permission denied?!

Yea, I checked those. FOS was recently updated to 5.3

Re: SSH permission denied?!

Hi CadeBro

Sounds like your admin account passwd got nuked during the upgrade process. I've had this happen to me on some of the Brocade 3018 (Blade chassis) switches.

You'll need to try another admin account like root , or factory , if you don't know the passwd for these give your friendly partner or vendor who sold you them a call

Re: SSH permission denied?!

nothing is probaly wrong with the account here is another message that is given and it deals with the cipher suite that is being run.

: no matching key exchange method found. Their offer: diffie-hellman-group1-sha1

I don't have the anwser or fix but a work around is a ssh client that accepts the older protocols it seems everybody is doing TLS 1.2 now and brocade might not be up to par to handle the encryption method.  I had to move to a windows box and use putty to get by this error.
