SAN design with DCX4S

Hi,

Please view my intend san topology as pic below.
How can I configure in order to servers able to connect to storage. Do I have to create 6 logical switch on two DCX4S and then connect to 5100? So, I have 6 fabrics?

Thank you.

Re: SAN design with DCX4S

if the inter-site links are really long and you want to have some sort of isolation between the sites, then i see 8 or even 10 fabrics here. but maybe it's easier to start with two fabrics and appropriate zoning?

Re: SAN design with DCX4S

Alexey's right, a little bit more of info would help.

What is the current diagram, are the 6 5100 stand-alone? If you, you could merge ech group of 3 into a single 4-switch fabric. Or you could use FCR to keep the switchs separated, or you could configure diferent VF on the DCX.... please clarify where you are and where you want to be and we'll try to help you out.

Re: SAN design with DCX4S

Hi Felipon,

On each DCX4S, I create 3 logical switch and then connect to 3 Brocade 5100 with ISL.

I also make FC path (3 physical links connect to DCX) from storage to 3 logical switch.

Is it a right way?

Thank you.
