SAN Switch FabOS Upgrade Guide

I have not done many Brocade firmware upgrades before. Is there an upgrade guide or matrix available to follow? Thanks

Re: SAN Switch FabOS Upgrade Guide

jim,

Upgrade of Fabric OS is very simple.

For some details about Firmware Compatibility and Supported Switches Type / Models refer the Fabric OS Release Notes Please.

For details about "firmwaredonload" command see a Fabric OS Command Reference Manuals.

If you are unsure wich FOS is supported in they Switches, check this DOC here

or post here the Switch name and current loaded FOS, I"ll guide you with Firmware upgrade.

If you are satisfied with the responses please mark as 'Answered'.
If not, just let me know I can see to get more info.
I would appreciated if you rate the threads.

Re: SAN Switch FabOS Upgrade Guide

pls find attached the best practice FOS upgrade and FOS upgrade doc. you have to check the compatibility of your FOS.read the release notes of the FOS you want to upgrade . Before that check the compatibility of your HOSTs' HBAs driver and firmware version and multipating software version from your storage vendor. It may cause problems later on especially in case of windows servers.

If you think that it has helped you pls correct the thread

Re: SAN Switch FabOS Upgrade Guide

Thanks for the replies. This was very helpful. According to that link, for a Brocade 200 switch the maximum version supported is 6.2.x. Is this correct? Will the release notes show what switches are supported for that version and if the switch is not listed then it's not supported?
