Replacing two DS-4100 switches with two DS-5100B switches help.

I'm reaching out for assistance regarding the replacement of two EMC Branded Brocade Departmental Switches DS-4100's with two new DS-5100B switches. Is anyone aware of an actual procedure that is specific to this type of upgrade? Both switches are the primary switches (Core Switches) serving connectivity to multiple Edge Switches carved into Fabric A and Fabric B. These switches are critical to the SAN and provide the backbone to the entire hospital storage infrastructure. I need a well executed plan that is fool proof.

Has anyone performed an upgrade similar to the one I am describing?

I'd like to replace the hardware, plug the fiber cables back in and everything function seamlessly.

What is the best way to replace the old switches and keep the zoning etc in place?

Insurance, I'm looking to buy some

A pretty picture of the two switches I am being tasked with to replace. Just for those of you like me and like to have visual aids.

Thank You

Terry

please post more details about both Fabric, FOS release, EDGE Switch Model and FOS reelase.

Is you Storage and Server Connectivity between the Compatibility  Matrix ?

If you are able to run SAN-Health and share it, or add my email address, abongiorno@techhelp24.net, I'll provide to assist you step-by-step with migration.
