NPIV LPM ,Source & Target are in diffenrt fabric

We have Source Frame VIO server is in one fabric and Target VIO is in another fabric .We are trying to do LPM (NPIV server(.But it is getting failed ).

fscsi0 is zoned such that it does not have access to the same target ports as the source

domain_id for fscsi2 is: 16

GPN_FT failed for wwpn 6464616170305702

GPN_FT failure:

    cmd_rsp_code:    0x8001

    reason_code:     0x9

    reason_code_exp: 0x7

Target reject command 4 flags 2.

Kindly let mw know what should be checked for LPM NPIV if connected in different fabric.

Arun

If you really mean what you say: "... one fabric ... another fabric ..." - then you either need to merge these fabrics, or setup FCR between them.

I'm also curious why you would need to interconnect two VIO servers?..

Ah, if LPM means something like "LPAR Migration" then it makes sense. But then the first part of my first response is still valid.

Hello!

I think that proper answer would be provided by IBM Tech support.

But I would start by looking at

Live Partition Mobility Preparation Checklist

Look at chapter 1, page 9 here:

Good luck!
