Missing HBA in FDMIshow output

New to Brocade commands.  If you have an HBA missing from the output of the FDMIshow command, what is that telling me?

switchshow displays all the HBAs.

Brocade 4424s

Fabric OS: v5.3.0_emb1

Thanks for any assistance

Re: Missing HBA in FDMIshow output

That tells you that the HBA in question either does not support FDMI, that FDMI registration is not enabled or that it failed. Note that registering management information is optional.

From what I've seen the only OS/HBA combinations actually performing FDMI registration by default are QLogic and Brocade adapters on Windows Server or VMware ESX, but I may be mistaken. You may want to check your HBA settings.

If you wanted to view more details about an attached host you're typically better off checking 'nsShow' output, since virtually all HBA's perform name server registration.
