Re: Mcdata 4400 can't startup

The compact flash card contains nothing to boot from so there is no way to recover the switch easily.

If you have an identical switch you may be able to make a copy of the compact flash card, but that involves disassembling the 'good' switch and is full of risk that you will end up with two dead switches.

I would normally just recommend replacement of the switch.

Hi There

I seem to have a similar issue. What is the password to "enter" the boot area?

Hi NUNOMPAD,

try...

- redips (spider spelled backwards)

- neergcm (mcgreen spelled backwards)

- password (password spelled the right way)

- level-2

Re: Mcdata 4400 can't startup

Unfortunately no. These switches are EOS for a long time. Maybe you are lucky with the OEM/provider of this switch.
