Interop Mode, Trunking and Firmware Upgrade

Hi All

  Today we have successfully upgraded the following Brocade Switches without any issues>>>

1. Brocade B4900 & B5300 - from 6.1.0c to 6.2.2b then finally to 6.3.1a

2. Brocade 4020 (IBM Bladecenter) - from from 6.1.0c to 6.2.2b (will there be any issue due to not having same firmware level on this??)

Pending issues

===========

1. As we have now taken out all the Old McData SAN Switches from our environment, we thought of changing the interop mode from McData Mode (1) to Brocade Native Mode(0) but this erases the entire SAN Zoning information from the Switches. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue without recreatign teh zonign information manually. Will DCFM 10.1 version be any help, if yes, how?

2. Also We have got Trunking Licenses for 4900 & 5300 to be applied, but as we couldn't change the interop mode to Brocade Native from McData Fabric Mode, will it still allow us to apply theTrunking License without any issue?

Any Help will be much appreciated.

Regards

Dib

No, this don't have any issue in the Fabric, 6.2.2 is compatible with 6.3.1a tested and Approved

If you have create a Backup, change the switch now in McDATA Mode and upload the config.
