Impact of changing Brocade switch port speed

Hi,

I would like to change the Port speed from N4 (Negotiable) to 4Gb fixed in the brocade switch(Brocade 5000 series) where EVA storage controller ports are connected.

But all these EVA storage controller ports are member of one or more active zones. So changing the port speed will obviously results in path failure in zoned servers.

Can anyone kindly suggest how to change the port speed with out any/minimal impact on production servers

Please revert back if more information required. Thanks for your understanding..

Regards,

Arun

4G is the default Speed by Brocade 5000.

Try a command "portcfgspeed" with operand

i.e.

portnumber = 5

speed = 4

"portcfgspeed 5 4"

Note: This command disable and enable the Port you select and is for short time disruptive,

Re: Impact of changing Brocade switch port speed

if EVA controller prots are 4 Gbps , you do not need to change it.
