Re: ISL between Br-5040 and Mc-6140

when you are in McDATA mode,

--->>>20  20  id    N2  Online          E-Port  segmented,(Security Violation)
--->>>21  21  id    N2  Online          E-Port  segmented,(Security Violation)

2: to turn McDATA Fabric mode on

Valid McDATADefaultZone: 0 (disabled), 1 (enabled)

Valid McDATASafeZone: 0 (disabled), 1 (enabled)

Use the "interopmode" command to verify is the Default/Save zone is correct set.

To verify is the Fabric is stable, use th ecommand "fabricshow",

Re: ISL between Br-5040 and Mc-6140

techhelp is right. this is an interoprative mode issue. pls check configshow out put, if you have another fabric, and it is not segmented, you can compare the configshow output. and then thorough configure command you have to set the parameters,

chekc with fabstatsshow:

user>fabstatsshow
Description                      Count
-----------------------------------------
Domain ID forcibly changed:          0
E_Port offline transitions:          1 (Last on port 1)
Reconfigurations:                 5957
Segmentations due to:
                  Loopback:          0
           Incompatibility:          0
                   Overlap:          0
                    Zoning:          0
            E_Port Segment:          0
                 Licensing:          0
           Disabled E_Port:          0
               Platform DB:          0
       Sec Incompatibility:          0
             Sec Violation:          0
                 ECP Error:          0
             Duplicate WWN:          0
            Eport Isolated:          0

user> interopmode
InteropMode: Off

Usage: InteropMode 0|1
         0: to turn it off
         1: to turn it on

you can check then with switchshow, fabricshow, and fabstatsshow

Re: ISL between Br-5040 and Mc-6140

Lucky,

is descripted in the Interopmode command, in the Command Reference Manual.

In order to enabling or disabling safezoning or default zoning, use the command "cfgmcdtmode"

For Operands details refer please the CLI manual.

with command "interopmode --show" can you list the current mode is set.

If the 6140 is set in safe zone mode ( as default ) you ned to enable safe zoning in IM2.

Re: ISL between Br-5040 and Mc-6140

Hi,

I having the similiar problem...

For my case, I ISL between Mcdata4700 (firmware: 09.01.00.50) and Brocade 5100 (FOSv6.1.0j).

Mcdata are on interopmode: Open Fabric 1.0 (DID: 1) and Brocade are on interopmode: McData Fabric Mode. (DID:99)

Do I need to make any change on the Brocade Interopmode? I couldn't get outage on Mcdata production switch.

Please let me know if there is any way to configure brocade (new switch) to ISL with the Mcdata..
