IBM PPRC thru DCX does not work out

Hi Guys,

I am trying to deploy disk replication (pprc) over DWDM link, using two new DCX directors. In each director I have a 6 ports of 10 Gb card installed. Those ports are connected directly to Cisco ONS.  Actually I have already merged 2 DCX into a single Fabric between two sites.

When I try to stablish pprcpaths, I check available pprcports and there are the available ports according to zones that were previously defined. the problem here is when I try o stablish pprc paths, the operation fails. Acording to IBM specialists, there is an issue related to login of the F ports when mkpprcpath command is issued, it makes some others queries that are failing.

Fabric is Ok, and all storage ports are ok. Zonning is Ok. Do you have any clue? what else can I check in order to find out where the problem is?

Thanks!

Juan i Téllez

I'm not familiar whit IBM and cisco ONS....

check the port settings you want to connect to other device, as example BB Credit, Distance Mode Settings,

Is a extended License Active ?

Re: IBM PPRC thru DCX does not work out

Hello Juan,

Could you provide additional information about solution you're used to resolve problem?

We have very similar issues with DCX and IBM pprc.

Thanks,

Andrzej

Re: IBM PPRC thru DCX does not work out

Hi Juan

Can you please explain how you managed to fix this issue as we are experiencing exactly the same problem

IBM PPRC thru 48000 Directors does not work.

Did you just run these commands to do a CP failover?

"hasyncstart" - to enable the HA sync process

"hafailover" - to initiate the control processor failover

Thanks

Aldyn
