How to do Periodic Maintenance for Brocade SAN Switch B64/B80/384B/768B

I am a new Network Engineer.

How to do Periodic Maintenance for Brocade 2005-B64 2498-B80 2499-384B 2499-768B SAN Switch?

What items to check and what commands should be used.

Is there formal papaer-format PM report?

Thanks reall a lot to listen from you.

Hi, perhaps you could explain what you want to find out from your Periodic Maintenance?

As some commands may not be available in all Fabric OS versions - presumably which FOS version the switch is running is an important first step.

You can find details of all the commands in the Brocade Fabric OS Command Reference - they are available per each Fabric OS version.

If you want a good overview of how the switch is doing - see the output of the command 'supportshow'.

Depending on what your goals are with respect to periodic maintenance SAN Health could be a

cohesive solution. As a result of using SAN health you will be able to perform key tasks such as:

  • Taking inventory of devices, switches, firmware versions, and SAN fabrics

  • Capturing and displaying historical performance data

  • Comparing zoning and switch configurations against best practices

  • Assessing performance statistics and error conditions

  • Producing detailed graphical reports and diagrams

and much more.

Please see the links below for additional detail on SAN Health:
