How do i rename firmware revision for FOS switches?

I am trying to rename the firmware revision for FOS switches, is there a way to do it. For example i need to rename from FOS 6.3.0 to FOS 6.3.0_DC1_SW2 etc.

Could someone help me in doing so?

Regards,

Sachi.

Sachi,

You cannot rename the Fabric OS Software in the Version or Revision.

If you are satisfied with the responses please mark as 'Answered'.
If not, just let me know I can see to get more info.
I would appreciated if you rate the threads.

Thank you.

Re: How do i rename firmware revision for FOS switches?

Hi,

Yes, even i tried many options but could not get the details. I was asking this because in some of the environments i have seen the firmware revision to be similar to the text i have given in my example. Any idea what could be other possibility for it?

Thanks.

as mention, rename for FOS is not available, but you can work with the command "chassisname" and "switchname"

this allo you to give each Switch in the Fabric a unique Name, i.e. SWITCH_A , SWITCH_B and so on...

For details refer please the FOS Command Reference Manual
