Hello. I have a question regarding FCIP tunnels.

Hello.

I have a customer that is experience some desconnection issues. I am wondering if this could indicate that the remote fcip peer is losing connection by some reason?

I am imagine that the fcip tunnel should be up in order to pass fiber channel traffic through it, Am i Correct?

An also I am wondering that the source and destination shold be up in order to form the FCIP tunnel, right?

Is there a way to test the fcip tunnel in order to figure it out what could be the issue or something to debug the events betwen the two switches?

Regards

Re: Hello. I have a question regarding FCIP tunnels.

@gmarcoss

such behavior that link got Up and Down can be caused by several reason, defect SFP, cable, fault beetwen the Site and much more.

If the Tunnel work fine in the past, I would suggest before you begin to investigate on the 7800, to check if the link between the TWO site router/wdm or what ever is established correct.
