I believe I'm lucky on that, Its new installation.
both brocade 5300 switches are new and will configure from scratch .

Re: Get's Need stps or guide to do cascading.

Ismail,

what is the reason you want to "cascade" also ISL both Swicthes ? = Single Fabric

If you have enough Port Capacity free, i would create a DUAL Fabric and not a Single Fabric.

A vaulable PDF is available from Brocade

http://www.brocade.com/downloads/documents/best_practice_guides/san-design-best-practices.pdf

have a look on that, and if you have more question let me know.,

First principal step consist to, with command  "configure" to set DID = Domain ID, each switch must have a unique DID,

all other value can be leave as default for first step.

In both case, Single or Dual Fabriuc, i woiuld use on both switch different DID.

You should work with the Commande Reference Guide and FOS Admin Guide for details.

Re: Get's Need stps or guide to do cascading.

Hi,

I'm Requsted to do cascading, and the new brocade come with full fabric all 80 port enabled.
we need to make tape library zoned on both switches and it has only one fcp port.
have checked FOS admin guide but there is things i did't understand
like
VC Encoded Address Mode
PID format
what ports should i use for ISL i know i should use more that link what is the recumendation ?
and how i tel the switch this ?
should i change those ports to E port in both switches?

again Sorry for the so many questions.

If you have steps it would be fine cause i don't want to miss any thing as i should do it in about 4 hores and make it production.
