Good day to you all..
I have just gone to a clients site and they are on FOS 5.2.1b on 3800 switches...
What is the correct upgrade procedure to get them to at least 6.0.x version ??
Do I have to include ALL the increments from 5.2.1b , IE 5.3.0 , 5.3.0a , 5.3.0b , 5.3.0c etc etc all the way up ??
I have never seen a site that is SO SO back in FOS levels :-((
Any help will no doubt save me a lot of time..

I quote from release notes of 5.3.1c
In addition Fabric OS v5.3.0 does not run on the SilkWorm 2000 series, 3200, 3800 or AP7420.
Hence in my opinion you cannot upgrade it any further.
Also a list of products that can be upgraded to 6.x or later, from the release notes for 6.0.0b.

Hi bijukrishnan ,
Thank you for that answer.. Well that leaves them in the position of moving to newer switches that we have also indicated...
Now we just have to see the colour of their money !!!!

Yup thats the way to go if this SAN is still critical to your customer. If I remember it right, the 3800 switch is end of life since 2009.
