FC16-48 Port/Trunk Groups

Hi,

I am battling to get a trunk formed between a DCX8510-8 and a 8510-4 switch both with FC16-48 blades installed.

Trunkshow 8510-8

  3:135->239 10:00:00:05:33:b2:54:00   3 deskew 15 MASTER
  4:151->215 10:00:00:05:33:b2:54:00   3 deskew 15 MASTER
  6:271->238 10:00:00:05:33:b2:54:00   3 deskew 15 MASTER
  9:287->214 10:00:00:05:33:b2:54:00   3 deskew 15 MASTER

Any advice on where the port groups are where these connection coud be plugged for the trunk to form.

Does anyone have a picture showing the port groups for this blade?

Thanks.

Re: FC16-48 Port/Trunk Groups

from the output you post:

3,4,6,9 show to me you try to create a ISL Trunk one port to different Trunking Group.

can you confirm ?

keep in mind, in order to create a trunk, all Trunk Member Port must member from same trunking group ( called octect )

Re: FC16-48 Port/Trunk Groups

I want to know what the trunking groups are on the FC16-48 port blade to ensure I use the correct ports for my ISLs to form a trunk.

Thanks.

As mentioned in my preview Post, Trunking Group can be formed on the same Octet.

48 Port Blade ( FC4; FC8; and FC16 ) Trunking groups are as follows: 0-7, 8-15, 16-23, 24-31, 32-39, 40-47

btw, we discussed this in the past, see this Topic

Re: FC16-48 Port/Trunk Groups

Hi,

perform the trunkdebug command and post it here. You will see the problem why not building the trunk.

Kind Regards
Ralf
