Enable NEW Zoning Configuration - Disruptive or not

Hi Experts,

Take scenario below:

Current effiective zone config is "EffectiveConfig".

There are zones "Old_zone_1" and "Old_zone_2" sitting inside "EffectiveConfig".

If I do perform zoning in this way:

1. Create a new zone, "New_zone_3".

2. Create a new config, "New_EffectiveConfig".

3. Copy all existing and new zones into new config, which mean "New_EEffectiveConfig" is now consists of "Old_zone_1", "Old_zone_2" and "New_zone_3".

4. cfgEnable "New_EffectiveFabric".

5. cfgSave.

6. Leave "EffectiveConfig" there, active back in case roll back is needed.

Will I cause fabric disruptive at step (4)?

Thank you.

Re: Enable NEW Zoning Configuration - Disruptive or not

hi,

Nope, no disruption should occur when enabling a new config. Hosts in Old_zone1 and Old_zone_2 should not be affected by the change.
