E Port

Hi,

Good morning….

We have configured E port from one Brocade SAN switch to another using multimode Fiber (Type: CONTRX, Model: 490 to Switch Type: CONTRX, Model: 510). Distance is 300mts.Both the switch re working fine.

For some business requirement we wanted to have one more E port between the same switch using single mode fiber connectivity.

Will this possible? Advice please…

Thanks,

M. Muthu

Re: E Port

In practice, this is not a good solution to use 2 different wiring Multimode and Singlemode for ISL on same Switches.

Re: E Port

Thanks for your response…. We are going to remove the multimode E port and will configure Single mode E port between the switch.

Could you help me the Technical document will describe the best way, how to configure the single mode E port (Multimode E port to Single mode E port migration)

Re: E Port

In order to use SM = SingleMode Fiber, you must replace Multimode SFP with SM SFP.

You wrote in the Threads, this switch is current confiure for SM, check configured Port to configured the additional.
