Difference between tunnels and circuits

What is the difference between tunnels and circuits?  It is better to have a tunnel to circuit ratio of 1:1 or 1:many?  Why?

I am speaking mainly on FCIP configurations on a 7800.

Thanks!

Re: Difference between tunnels and circuits

Am FCIP Tunnel can consist of one or more circuits.

If you define more circuit per FCIP tunnel, you'll have more redundancy (on tunnel level)

Re: Difference between tunnels and circuits

I understand that part.  I am trying to understand if I am better off with having two tunnels with one circuit each or one tunnel and two circuits?

And two tunnels with multiple circuits?

Do you have a full 7800 or de 7800e one?

Re: Difference between tunnels and circuits

Right now I have 4 tunnels with one circuit each.  I am trying to understand why I don't have one tunnel with 4 circuits.  It's a full 7800.
