Data Migration between old IBM storage to HP storage

Need Advise !!!!

I have zoned my HOST1 with both storage through Brocade  switch with same Host HBA ports. I am concerned for the data consistency/corruption if i copy the data using same Host1 HBA port card for both the storage.

Can i connect my both storages from single path of host1 HBA through zoning without any risk/interruption  on data flow as i have to copy the data between storage LUNS which is mounted on my HOST without impacting data consistency.

Zones Configuration  with IBM Storage :

SAN Switch Y -  Storage IBM Ctrl A --- > Host1 HBA Port 1 ( Fist FC  Path )

SAN Switch Z -  Storage IBM Ctrl B --- > Host1 HBA Port 2 ( Second FC Path )

Zones Configuration  with HP Storage :

SAN Switch Y -  Storage HP Ctrl A --- > Host1 HBA Port 1 ( Fist FC  Path )

SAN Switch Z -  Storage HP Ctrl B --- > Host1 HBA Port 2 ( Second FC Path )

Can somebody help on this. if required i can upload the connectivity diagram for better understanding.

Regards

Vishal

Re: Data Migration between old IBM storage to HP storage

Hi,

There is no risk of data corruption accessing two different storage arrays from the same HBA port.
