Daily Config Upload for multiple switch

DETAILED DESCRIPTION 

If you have so many number of switches and you want to take configuration backup from all the switch at the same time, this script can be used. And if you want to backup switch configuration every day or week depending upon your frequency of change in zoning, you may use this script to schedule in cron.

REQUIREMENTS

Operating System Any unix platform which has perl and expect.

Interface Following schell script can be used to backup multiple swith at the same time. You may schedule in cron to do regular backup

  1. Backup Switch 1

filename="/sanbkup/switch1-`date +%b%d%y%H%M`.backup"/root/san/switchcmd2 configupload '"IP Address of Host","username","'$filename'","password"'
switch1

Fabric Operating System Works in Fabric OS 2.x, 3.x and 4.x (provided if it does not ask password change for root)

Other Same program can be used to excute any fabric command with parameter in quote.

 

NOTES (INCLUDING LIMITATIONS)

All the switch should have same userid and password. Otherwise you have modify the script for each switch.
