DCX and IBM LTO3 Drive problems

Hi,

We are migrating some LTO drives from a Brocade 5300 to a DCX FC16-48 Blade. All SFP are SFP+ 8 Gb/s.

LTO4 and LTO5 migrate without problem. However, old IBM LTO3 3580 tape drives can't login to the switch. Led of ports is amber. Port show a status of in_sync, N2 speed but health  is showing "offline". Same LTO drives work ok on Brocade 5300 with 8 Gb/s SFP+.

Any idea about this issue?

Thanks in advance

Re: DCX and IBM LTO3 Drive problems

Hi,

tried the following command:  portcfggport 4/43 1

But didn't help

Again, on Brocade 5300 the drive is working fine without any further configuration.

I think the main difference between 5300 and DCX is that DCX Blade (FC16-48) doesn't support FL_ports.

Hi,

this is correct.

AFAIK, some Library can be set up as Fabric Mode instead Loop Mode, now I'm not sure if you Drive meet this requiremenst.
