rob,

Yes, you can Build a Fabric with Brocade and McDATA.

you must first make sure, both Switch have a compatible OS.

what is the exact release loaded in 3900 and 4400 ?

you must change/set correct the Interopmode and Domain ID, in the Brocade and in the McDATA switch.

Attached is a PDF to Merge a Fabric McDATA to Brocade with Domain ID details.

Re: Connecting SW3900 and McData 4400

Hi Antonio,

About the Brodade switches they are at v5.3.0c but I was not able to gain information about the MCdata 4400's yet.

Is there a way to connect by a serial line to these 4400's? or even set these switches to default so I can connect those via telnet to the default ip address?

Thanks in advanced.

----Is there a way to connect by a serial line to these 4400's?

attached the Installation and Sevice manuals.

Note, if you have lost the password the switch must be reset, and all License will be lost !

by Default the usename is

"Administrator"

and password is

"password"
