Connecting Brocade 249824e

Hi all,

i have HP BladeSystem c7000 and Eva with two 4Gb SAN switch and IBM DS3524 with

two Brocade 249824e SAN switch.

I need to connect Brocade 249824e with Blade, do i need Fabric licence ?

I have base licence with unlocked eight port.

I understand you are running all your switches in native mode. No NPIV. You can't use NPIV because you have your EVA connected directly to your blade switches.

In this case you DO need Fabric license if you want to connect your switches to form one fabric.

You also need check if you have available licensed ports in your blade switch. You can check this using the command: licenseport

I need to present DS3524 to blade servers, and i have only one zone. I have only one port free on

switches in Blade, and plan to attach Brocade switch on this port. Can it's possible without aditional licence ?

I think that need ISL link between two switches?

Yes. Fabric License is required for ISL to another Switch.
