Configuration Deletion

Hi All,

I've only one configuration in my switch. As of now, there is only zone present in that configuartion.

Now this server has been decommisioned and the zoning for this server is also not required but the problem is I'm not able to removing the zoning as I assume that a configuration cannot exists without a zone.

CFGSHOW OUTPUT :

sw2:admin> cfgshow
Defined configuration:
 cfg:   zone2_12_17_2008
                Host_B1
 zone:  Host_B1
                Host_hba2; cx340_spa1; cx340_spb0
 alias: Host_hba2
                21:00:00:1b:32:80:c0:ca; 21:00:00:e0:8b:9b:d8:d2
 alias: cx340_spa1
                50:06:01:61:41:e0:2b:4a
 alias: cx340_spb0
                50:06:01:68:41:e0:2b:4a

Effective configuration:
 cfg:   zone2_12_17_2008
 zone:  Host_B1
                21:00:00:1b:32:80:c0:ca
                21:00:00:e0:8b:9b:d8:d2
                50:06:01:61:41:e0:2b:4a
                50:06:01:68:41:e0:2b:4a

Thanks and Regards,

Re: Configuration Deletion

Hi TechHelp24,

So do you mean that i'll have to disable the configuration first using the command :-

cfgdisable "Configuration Name"

Then cfgdelete "Configuration Name"

No need to remove zone from the configuration and alias from the zone. We can straight away delete the configuration as per the scenario mentioned above.

Re: Configuration Deletion

Hi,

With 'cfgdisable' you will disable the cfg zone2_12_17_2008.

Once done that, you have some options:

cfgdelete zone2_12_17_2008

cfgsave

This will delete this cfg but the zone will remain.

On the other hand, you can perform:

cfgclear

cfgsave

This will delete all the cfgs, zones and alias from the effective configuration.

Rgds,

Felipon
