Can't login to console mode

Hello,

I want to log into our HP2 SAN switch in console mode via Putty but I always get an access denied message.  The username and password are valid because I can log into the GUI without any problem.

Is there something I must configure to be able to login into console mode?

Thank you.

Re: Can't login to console mode

What GUI are you logging in? Maybe that's BNA GUI, not the switch GUI? The credentials could be different then.

Also what do you mean by console mode? Telnet, SSH or Serial?

Hello,

I log in the switch GUI.

By console mode I mean SSH.

I created a new user in the switch GUI and tried to log in with that account in SSH but got the same result.

In the end what I would like to do is to configure the switch to foward syslog events.

Thank you.

Re: Can't login to console mode

BSDM,

99,999% IPFilter is set for SSH and/or Telnet as denied.

you shold use a serial cable, connect to the switch trough a console port, and set the filter as allow.

for details refer the Command Reference Manuals.
