CLI manual for mcdata 4500 with fw ver 07.01.XXX, as cant access web intf

Hi there I am playing around with fibre in my lab for learning at home and have just purchased an EMC DS-24M2 which im told is a mcdata 4500.

Looking through the forums here i see it sounds like i cant get into the webconsole without factory defaulting it which means I will lose some ports (if not all).

So im hoping someone can send me a link to where i can get the cli manual for the v7.01.xx cli commands so i can try and setup zoning etc by the command line.. i know it will be painful but it looks like the commands are there , but all the cli documenst I seem to find are for new versions that dont work.

I have access to the  user prompt "C>" (which gives only a few comands )and to the maintentaince prompt "{P} SSP>" which gives me a bunch of command and looking at without running all the commands (ok ok i ran a few ) ie PCPZONEI,PCPZONEN,PCPZONER,PCPZSET.

My aim is to:

a. understand the commands to be able to use them hence trying to get the CLI manual

b. set up some new zones (i can see some old ones with "PCPZSET")

of course any other pointers would be greatly appricated

thanks in advance to anyone who can help

Thanks for that TechHelp24, before I open a seperate question thought i better ask it here first.

reading to through the cli manual bafels me even futher as none of those commands work and all the ones i can see are not listed. do i have to run some command to get to these?

From the serial port i can get to (should have clarified that that the only access i have ):

C> which only gives me:

EXIT               HELP               PSWD       DISPLAYLOG         IPCONFIG

and from the maintentaince prompt :

Re: CLI manual for mcdata 4500 with fw ver 07.01.XXX, as cant access web intf

In order to access trugh the Web-Interface, point the Browser to IE or Mozilla to

http://SWITCH_IP_ADDRESS

username = Administrator (A = as Big Character )

password = selected password

If the Login credential are unknown, we have discussed this problem here at several time, see all the other Threads here in the Community.

In any such case don't make sense to discuss the same problem another time.

I'm sorry.

Re: CLI manual for mcdata 4500 with fw ver 07.01.XXX, as cant access web intf

HI TechHelp24, sorry i wasent talking about the web interface, i meant the service console

I did read the other threads here a fair bit before posting , thats why i knew i could not get into the web interface , I thought that since i have access that service port access i could at least still edit the existing setups etc just that it would take alot more work, it seems posible as i can see commands to list the zones, ports topology etc so just though it was worth asking how to use the PCP commands to so it.

I relise this is a seperate question so am happy to give you the points as you gave me the cli manual (just that i didnt relise that it wasnt for the PCP commands)

Thanks again for you help
