We need to take control over an existing environment with Brocade 5000 switches and HP c-class bladesystem enclosures. In these HP enclosures Brocade 5480 24 port 8Gb switches are used in AG (NPIV) mode. We have ip-contact with the 5000's but not (yet) with the 5480's. through the AGSHOW command on the 5000 we see the 5480's which are also visible in Brocade BNA. Both the AGSHOW output and BNA indicate that the FOS-level of these 5480's is 6.1.0_uth5. When looking into the release-notes there is no mention of the 5480 before FOS6.2.0. The FOS6.1.0_uth5 is mentioned nowhere on the Brocade site.
Is this 6.1.0_uth5 some earliest version for the 5480 that was combined with the normal FOS-level train in 6.2.0 or is it something special? We want to upgrade (when ip-connectivity is established) to 6.4.2b through 6.2.x, 6.3.x.

This Release or other _xyz are usually Customer Release.

Only GA= General Available FOS Release are listed by Brocade and reported in Release Notes.
I would suggest, before you take any Upgrade ask by Admin or you OEM Supplier or Brocade about this Release.

I'd suggest you check your BladeSystem inventory to see what exactly these modules are.
6.1.0_uth releases were specific to HP Virtual Connect 8G 24-port FC Module (codename Utah, sometimes called Brocade 5481). Although it's essentially the same hardware as the 'real' 5480 (B-Series 8/24c SAN Switch for BladeSystem c-Class), its firmware is upgraded with Virtual Connect firmware bundles rather than standard Fabric OS process. In fact, FOS is not officially accessible in Virtual Connect FC modules.
For the latest Virtual Connect firmware please refer to HP site: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/S
Hope this helps,
