Re: Brocade 48000 information message generating in each and every secound

hi, i understand that these messages normally appear when devices login/logout in the fabric... i haven't seen these messages appearing that often... what do you see when you run fabriclog/fabstateshow? can you post the output here?

Re: Brocade 48000 information message generating in each and every secound

slot 5 is indeed the cp of 48k. it is mentioned in the errshow because it is the active cp and it is logging the message, not because it is guilty.

can you please provide fabriclog/fabstateshow from the switch?

Re: Brocade 48000 information message generating in each and every secound

I have had this happen on our 48000 several times.  The problem has always been a faulty HBA or SFP on a connected device.  Have you done a "porterrshow" and looked for a port where "Link Fail" or "Loss of Signal' were increasing rapidly ?

Re: Brocade 48000 information message generating in each and every secound

Hi,

If no link bounces are reported in fabric log, it means that there is a npiv device , not directly  connected but connected via an access gateway, that is continuously logging in and out of the name server. There are some cool commands useful to locate the device that misbehaves.... i will post them if i find them.
