Brocade 48000 Log File Interpretation

Hello Gurus,

I have a Brocade 48000 lan director.

They were doing local routine maintenance for a couple of
servers / zone configs / Alias definitions etc.....AT the same time stamp
for the local changes a server in Ohio dropped from the fabric.
They cannot determine the source as it appears the definitions
changed on the Ohio box which caused the drop. Time stamps are exactly the
same as work being done here. They restored the original configuration and
alias came right back up and has been working ever since.

Question is what happened?
Local log file only shows path/changes on the local servers.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Here is the log file but I'm unable to interept it.

Re: Brocade 48000 Log File Interpretation

Hi Rondo,

That is part of the syslog on a Solaris server and simply shows that all the SAN disks were lost. To understand what happened, it is more likely to be to the SAN that you should be looking.

As zoning changes were being made, I would guess the zone for the server in Ohio was removed from the zoning configuration that was activated just before that server lost its disk. By restoring the initial configuration (i.e. with the Ohio server), disk access was restored.

Does that help?
