BC 20-port 8Gb FC SAN Switch Module Brocade (14xInt, 6xExt) and Cisco MDS 9124 - E-Port segmented,(Eport Isolated)

It is possible to connect the MDS 9124 and BC 20-port 8Gb FC SAN Switch Module Brocade (14xInt, 6xExt). Need to traverse it with the IBM DS 3400 Storage System in 9124 on blade server is connected to the Brocade SAN switch. I have found here is a solution: I created a new VSAN on 9124, put the port, connected to Brocade into this VSAN and set interop mode 4 for this VSAN. The Brocade into interop mode 2. This works fine. But Cisco MDS 9124 doesn't support IVR (Inter-VSAN Routing), so the connected Brocade switch cannot operate with another VSAN's devices...

If to put the Brocade into AccessGateway generates this error on port - mode NPIV not supported by Fabric port...

we discussed this at several time here in the community, please looking for similarly other threads.

Cisco should be set in Interop-Mode 3

NO! just only the Cisco must be set in IM-3, leave the Brocade in Native Mode, and enable the port as NPIV

try follow,

name-Switch-Fb-01# conf t
Enter configuration commands, one per line.  End with CNTL/Z.
name-Switch-Fb-01(config)# interface fc 1/30 <-is a port example
name-Switch-Fb-01(config-if)# switchport fcrxbbcredit 16
name-Switch-Fb-01(config-if)# no shut

BROCADE:

Any Brocade-Switch-in-native-mode:admin> portcfgislmode 0 1 <- is a port example

Now you should see from Cisco Fabric Manager the Brocade Switch with all maintained Zoning

Re: BC 20-port 8Gb FC SAN Switch Module Brocade (14xInt, 6xExt) and Cisco MDS 9124 - E-Port segmented,(Eport Isolated)

is th eBrocade on FOS 6.x or 7.x ?

FOS 7.x not longer support Interop-Mode with Cisco, in such case you can only work in AG Mode.

Post more details about the Brocade, Switch Type, FOS Release, License show etc....

It is "FUNDAMENTAL"

each switch in the Fabric, Logical VSAN, or whatever.... must have a "UNIQUE" Domain ID

with other word, you have  ID Conflict
