Re: ASIC

Hi,

an ASIC is an Application Specific Integrated Circuit. This makes the different between the vendors.

Brocade has several ASICs. SOme fore the intelligent Applications like FCoE, FCIP and Encryption.

For the FibreChannel you have several ASICs:

4G: Condor and GoldenEye

8G: Condor2 and GoldenEye2

16G: Condor3

For more and deep information i suggest you to visit a CFA200 classroom. All the FC-ASICs are discussed very deep.
