8 trunks with 2 links each or 4 trunks with 4 links each

as the topic says

what would you go for

connect your directors with 8 trunks where every trunk consists of 2 links or go with 4 trunks consisting of 4 links each?

do more trunks handle traffic better

I would create a Single Trunk-Group.

--->>>do more trunks handle traffic better

from my point of view, the answer is NO, as follow reason.

If you create more trunk-group betwen the same switch/director, you have more ISL - in a trunk - and suchs work like DPS/EBR = Dynamic Path Selection/Exchange Based Routing:

Exchange-based routing (EBR) uses all available (equal-cost) routes between source port and destination port,

with individual exchanges assigned a single route. Although it represents a more efficient use of available

bandwidth, it is potentially more disruptive because of changes introduced into the fabric without lossless

Dynamic Path Selection (DPS).

Hi All,

if you have more trunks between two Directors and you terminate them on different Blades,

then you have a higher availability in a case of Blade outage.

But then think about the statement of Antonio.
