We have the following problem/question. We got two 7800 at two separate sites connected via 100Mbps link.
There will be FCIP replication between the two sites.
I have two questions:
1. Is it possible to have FCIP and IP config on the same gigabit interface - I mean we have FCIP encrypted for storage replication between the switches and we want to have some other (traditional IP applications like FTP) passing via the same interface. Maybe something like subinterfaces which can separate both types of traffic?
2. If that is possible can you please advice is there a way to encrypt not only the FC traffic but the other application traffic too.
Thank you very much.

Could you not seperate the traffic over the wan by using dedicated vlans based on type of traffic? For instance vlan 200 passes traffic from the FCIP interfaces (in know you can configure a vlan on the circuit) and set vlan 100 for traditional IP? If that is possible in your environment you can handle the FCIP encryption (IPsec, though you should read about it in detail via the FCIP admin guide. There are limitations.)from the FCIP switch and let the network use SSL or something on the WAN link to secure the vlan 100 traffic. Hope this helped.
