<<Problem>>

1. The "configupload" and "supportsave" can upload data successfully, it
prove that the network and FTP work normal. So it very stange that the
"firmwaredownload" call out netowrk can not reachable error. Pls help to
analysis the case or any other tips can review? Thx.

2. If there any other method to upgrade firmware? I know that on new
modle switch such as 2498-B24 we can use USB storage to upgrade
firmware, but there is no USB port on 2005-B16.

Re: 2005-B16(Brocade 200E) v5.1.0b firmwaredownload failed

Hi,

Try connecting directly to the switch instead of doing it through the LAN.

On the other hand, review root folder of your FTP server. I have seen several issues like yours where the switch could not locate the directory with the code.

Also check your FTP settings to see if the user has reading credentials (supportsave and configupload, both write into the ftp but do not read).

Rgds,

Re: 2005-B16(Brocade 200E) v5.1.0b firmwaredownload failed

[ Edited ]

I was able to recently update firmware using SCP by pointing to the directory name only. So if I unpack the v7.0.2c compressed file to the root directory of my server I would enter 'v7.0.2c' for the filename. The switch is able to traverse the directory structure automagically.

Also, I wasted serveral hours trying to get SolarWinds SCP server to function. I eventually tried Bitvise SSH and it worked great.
