error : port does not belong to a LAG. what am I doing wrong

Hello,

I am trying to configure a LAG.  I have the lag created with a lag name,

when I try to enter ports with the port-name command of:

Port-name e3/6 e3/7

Error message pops up

error : port 3/7  does not belong to a LAG

When I switch the order of the ports in the command:

Port-name e3/7 e3/6

I get the error message of:

error : port 3/6  does not belong to a LAG

The other side of the lag on the distant end switch is configured without any

reported error.

The VLANS are the same.  I found that if they were not the same the switch

would tell me specificly.

Any hints?

Thank you in advance.
