Question regarding GBIC compatibility

I have a FCX-24G switch and I plug some GBIC on it but I cannot see any additional interfaces on it (should be interfaces 25 and 26?).

There is any way to configure this in order to recognize those GBICs? or should the device discover them by itself?

regards

Re: Question regarding GBIC compatibility

As an additional intormation, I'm getting this message everytime I'm trying to configure interfaces

Error - command not allowed for stacking port:
is there any conflict between the stack interfaces and the slot 2 ethernet interfaces?

Re: Question regarding GBIC compatibility

Hi,

The FCX has 4 x SFP ports for the GBICs - these are on ports 1-4.  These are what is called combo ports (SFP OR Copper).  If you use a SFP in port 1 then you cannot use the copper port 1 at the same time.

Thanks

Michael.
