Power Down CER 2024F to Install a 2x10gig Module?

I've got a CER 2024F that I need to install a 2x10gig module in.  Do I need to power off the CER to install this?  The documenation suggests that I do, but I need to confirm that this is absolutely necessary since this is a production router.  Thanks.

Yes, as this is a hardware installation and not a software license installation, you will have to power off the router to install this module. If you don't power off and reboot, the software will not detect the new hardware.

Smahadev is correct. You should  follow the procedure CER Hardware Installation Guide:

Installing a 2 x10-Gigabit Ethernet Module

Follow these procedures when installing a 10-Gigabit Ethernet Module.

1. Power off the Brocade device.

2. Use a #2 Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the blank faceplate or old module from the front panel.

3. Install the 10-Gigabit module in the chassis.

4. Use a #2 Phillips-head screwdriver to fasten the screws on the 2 x10-Gigabit module.

Affix the screws loosely at first, then tighten them once you are sure the board is properly positioned
