Port Mirroring Error

Scratching my head on this one..

I'm in the process of mirroring traffic from e 1/1 (RX-4) to e 1/4 (transparent firewall).

I have issued the following on the router:

Conf t

Mirror e 1/4

Int e 1/1

Mon e 1/4 both

I get the following error after the last command

Error: sflow are enabled on other port(s) on the same PPCR!

How does this affect ports 1/1 and 1/4 since disabled sflow on those ports?

Has any seen this before?

Re: Port Mirroring Error

Hi.

I think you have to disable SFlow on the whole port group of 12 ports (1/1 - 1/12) since they might be on the same Packet Processor.

Re: Port Mirroring Error

Wow..

So the entire ports on the module must be disabled?

That's not good.

Re: Port Mirroring Error

The error message sounds like... give it a try!

Re: Port Mirroring Error

That did the trick!

Are there work-arounds to get sflow data going forward OR am I just out of luck.

Re: Port Mirroring Error

I do not know about any workaround on such a limitation. I think it is limitation of the chip.

If you think this is a bug and need to be changed you need to open a ticket at Brocade TAC. ;-)

I am not working for Brocade.

Cheers
