Password Reset

We use a Brocade (Foundry) FastIron FLS 648 network switch. Is it possible to reset the password without loosing the configuration data?

Re: Password Reset

Hi Raturner,

Provided the last person to enter config on the switch saved the config via a write mem command, then Yes you can do this.

The switch needs to be rebooted and use must be connected via the console port on the switches.  During boot time in the terminal windows you will see press <b> to enter boot monitor or something like that. After pressing b I think you then enter the command "no password" then "boot system pri or sec".

Prerequisites: Must have physical access to the switch and console port

Press ‘b’ within 3-seconds of power-cycling the switch to enter the boot prompt.

Example:

Boot>no password

Boot>boot system flash primary

When the system is booted put a new password/user on the switch and also back up your config.

Thanks

Michael.
