How to get vlan statistics from SNMP with CER router ?

Hello,

We are looking to graph vlan in/out packets via SNMP with our CER 2024F.  Unfortunately, it seems to have no counters for vlan interface contrary to ethernet interface (we can't find vlan interface via standard SNMP OIDs.

Has anyone already managed to get statistics for vlan interface ?

#sh vlan 500

PORT-VLAN 500, Name VLAN-500, Priority Level -, Priority Force 0

Topo HW idx    : 0    Topo SW idx: 257    Topo next vlan: 0

L2 protocols   : NONE

Tagged Ports   : ethe 1/1

Associated Virtual Interface Id: 500

----------------------------------------------------------

Port  Type      Tag-Mode  Protocol  State

1/1   PHYSICAL  TAGGED    NONE      FORWARDING

Arp Inspection: 0

DHCP Snooping: 0

IPv4 Multicast Snooping: Disabled

IPv6 Multicast Snooping: Disabled

Bytes received : 4762495994

#sh int eth 1/1

GigabitEthernet1/1 is up, line protocol is up

...  385299231 packets input, 269592609091 bytes, 0 no buffer

...

  496421162 packets output, 411257230968 bytes, 0 underruns

Cheers,

Julien

Re: How to get vlan statistics from SNMP with CER router ?

Hi Julien,

     Had a quick look at the mib ref and could not see anything for this. Was thinking that if a VE has been assigned to the VLAN then maybe you could use the following;

snSwIfStatsInFrames

brcdIp.1.1.3.3.5.1.29

Syntax: Counter

Read only Shows the total number of packets received on the interface.

snSwIfStatsOutFrames

brcdIp.1.1.3.3.5.1.30

Syntax: Counter

Read only

With in index to the VE which I THINK is the Topo SW idx: 257    from your post.

Not much help here sorry.

Thanks

Michael.
