How to Stack ICX 6650

Can we stack ICX 6650 as the way we do stacking on ICX 6450

Re: How to Stack ICX 6650

Currently stacking is not supported in 6650. I am hearing that it may be planned for a release coming out next year. However its not planned/committed at this time. I would highly recommend engaging a Brocade SE/Sales representative and discuss the use case scenario & they will be able to further assist you.

thanks,

Re: How to Stack ICX 6650

Dear Deepti,

We are having 2 X  ICX6650s in distribution layer and in access we have ICX6450 (stacked) .

We want to configure trunks between ICX6450  and  ICX6650 ,If staking is not supported then how do we create trunks to avoid STP loops.

Ahmed,

Though we don't support stacking in 6650, trunking is supported in 7.5 release. You can use these configuration steps to set up the trunk between 6650 and 6450.

Re: How to Stack ICX 6650

Ahmed,

You should configure Multi-Chassis Trunking (MCT) feature on both your ICX 6650 switches to avoid STP/loops. Multi Chassis Trunking (MCT) allows two switches, or routers, to cluster together and appear as a single logical switch. MCT provides active-active links that connect with multiple traditional and/or mixed stack domains. Active/active links increase bandwidth scalability and enhance system availability. MCT provides switch redundancy and loop prevention without the use of STP.

Thanks,

Sharan
