Hardcoding an FCX combo port media type

Does anyone know what the command is to hardcode the media type for one of the combination ports on an FCX box?  I can't find it in any of the documentation, and I can't even find it playing around on the actual box.  However, I don't have a fiber module to plug in, so maybe the command is only available if the port is populated with one.

Re: Hardcoding an FCX combo port media type

there is no way to hardcode the combo port.

which ever link is connected 1st, comes up.

so if you have fiber connected to port 1/0/1 and then you connect copper, it will take fiber, and if there is copper before fiber, it will keep the copper.

hope this helps.

Re: Hardcoding an FCX combo port media type

OK, thanks.  I believe you, but if you're right, the documentation is wrong:

From the FastIronCX_07400_InstallGuide.pdf:

Combination ports

FCX devices contain four combination ports, which are four Small Form Factor Pluggable (SFP)

network interfaces (1F~4F) that are shared with four of the RJ45 ports (ports 1~4). In the default

configuration, if an SFP transceiver is installed in a slot and has a valid link on its port, the

associated RJ45 port is disabled and cannot be used. The switch can also be configured to force

the use of a combination RJ45 port or SFP slot, as required.
