CONTROL VLAN 4095

Hello,

Regarding control VLAN, we have in our Data Center NO Spanning Tree with MCT in Distribution and Access Layers. My question is, how should the control vlan be configured in the ports??? as tagged or untagged? or it follows same rules as tagged ports or untagged ports?

Regards,

Ernesto

Re: CONTROL VLAN 4095

Ernesto,

The control port 4095 is not user configurable.

Re: CONTROL VLAN 4095

Note that vlans 4091 to 4095 are reserved for internal use and cannot be configured by the user.

Re: CONTROL VLAN 4095

As a rule of thumb you should have your switch to switch trunks tagged. The device will communicate switch to switch with a tagged or untagged link. It doesnt matter. The advantage to tagging it is you need less commands to add another vlan to the trunk!
