Brocade FCX648, How to save config to FTP?

Hello All,

I'm running the command "copy startup-config tftp 10.x.x.x startup-config", in order to try and copy the config out to an obvious TFTP server, but this does not work.

I continually receive a message stating below:

Invalid input -> copy startup-config tftp 10.x.x.x startup-config

Type ? for a list

Any help would be appreciated, the guides seem to have the incorrect command.

Thanks!

Re: Brocade FCX648, How to save config to FTP?

Hi Eric,

the command you use seems to be ok. Make sure you are in "enabled" mode when issuing the command.

BR-telnet@FGS648P-2>

BR-telnet@FGS648P-2>ena

BR-telnet@FGS648P-2#copy

  copy                Copy between flash, tftp, config/code

BR-telnet@FGS648P-2#copy start

  startup-config   From startup config

BR-telnet@FGS648P-2#copy startup-config tftp 10.1.1.1

  ASCII string   File name

BR-telnet@FGS648P-2#copy startup-config tftp 10.1.1.1

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is what it looks like, when you try to run the command not being in "enabled" mode.

BR-telnet@FGS648P-2>copy startup-config tftp 10.1.1.1 startup-config

Invalid input -> copy startup-config tftp 10.1.1.1 startup-config

Type ? for a list

Yes, that worked, had to be in "enabled mode", so once I did that it worked just fine.

Thanks!
