6430 voice vlan configuration

Hello

 

I am trying to configure a 6430 for voice and data traffic but something is just not working.

I want to use LLDP-MED for auto-VLAN assignment

The switch is connecting to a cisco router with the same VLANs configured from port 1/1/24.

The DHCP for Voice is different from the Data one and both outside the LAN

IP-Helper configured on the router interface.

The problem is that neither a phone nor a PC will get an IP address. (static IP on the pc will not work either)

When the voice VLAN in moved to the native-VLAN on the router the phones connect.

Any ideas what might be wrong or how to make it work?

Also tried making port 1/1/24 a dual port and also configured it as an uplink.

I was having the same sort of behavior but with Avaya phone and this is the working config we finally used upon Avaya advices

 

lldp tagged-packets process
lldp med network-policy application voice tagged vlan 300 priority 6 dscp 46 ports ethe 1/1/1 to 1/1/24 ethe 1/2/2 ethe 1/2/4 ethe 2/1/1 to 2/1/24 ethe 2/2/4
lldp advertise vlan-name vlan 100 ports ethe 1/1/1 to 1/1/24 ethe 1/2/2 ethe 1/2/4 ethe 2/1/1 to 2/1/24 ethe 2/2/4
lldp advertise vlan-name vlan 300 ports ethe 1/1/1 to 1/1/24 ethe 1/2/2 ethe 1/2/4 ethe 2/1/1 to 2/1/24 ethe 2/2/4
lldp run

 

1 - Try configure a default gateway in your data vlan 

vlan 100 name HBS_Data by port
tagged ethe 1/1/1 to 1/1/24 ethe 1/2/2 ethe 2/1/1 to 2/1/24 ethe 2/2/2
default-gateway x.x.x.x

 

2 - This is the template I used on voip access port

May be you can also do a wireshark trace to see where the dhcp lease is broken

i will try the lldp tagged-pacet processand lldp advertise vlan-name vlan commands and see how it goes as at the moment it seems that packets leaving the switch are not tagged(????).

 

if i give a default-gateway under a vlan, will it not be assigned globally?
