10 gig modules in FCX-S - any experiences?

We're about to install 2-port 10GbE XFP modules into four units of a 7-unit stack, to connect four unstacked new switches.  Would you know of any things to be aware of or watch out for?   It's our first venture into 10 gig.

The stack is running 7.2.02f code and is mostly FCX-648S units.   Thanks.

It get configured just like any other port. Just make sure you have the proper optic for the fiber you are using.

You also need to make sure you got the proper license to use the 10Gb port.

Do a "show interface brief" on your switch and make sure that there are no "Err. disabled" port.

Without a license many port can only be used in 1000-full-master mode. (1Gb)

The 10G on the FCX goes in without a hitch.  XFP module and the XFP optics are solid and there's nothing you special you have to do.

Thanks much for everyone's advice and assurances.  We'll make sure the switches are powered down when we insert the expansion module that holds the XFPs.
